1.1. Create a new project

1. Go to https://github.com/nsidc/ and click the green new button

2. Choose a meaningful repository name. Here we use my-example-project

3. If you want, select

   • [X] Add a README file

   • [X] Add .gitignore (choose your language)

   • [X] License: Whichever is appropriate for your project. Creative Commons are a good default.

4. Click the green Create repository button

5. After creating a new project, you can add a file or folder
